Louis-François Marcotte, speaker, chef and businessman
The motto of Louis-François Marcotte, speaker, is: ‘‘Cooking should be accessible to all’’. As a legacy from his paternal grands-parents and his mother that did pass on their passion, he was captivated by the culinary world at a very young age.
During his adolescence, he worked for several food chains – first as a packer then as a butcher –Louis-François abandoned his studies in mechanical engineering to pursue cuisine studies at the ITHQ. Everybody thought that was a crazy decision to make, but he knew he took the right one.
When he graduated, the motivation of this new chef to become an entrepreneur was as high as his kitchen talent and creativity.
Parallel to his career on television (Le goût de Louis, Cuisinez comme Louis, Le BBQ de Louis, Signé M.), Louis-François Marcotte was involved and invested in four restaurants, namely: Le Simpléchic, Le Local, Le Hangar, Cabine M wine bar and bistro at the Montréal-Trudeau airport. Such experience has been rewarding at all levels. Then, he decided to take things further in 2014, by opening La Tablée des Pionniers, which is a sugar shack located in Saint-Faustin-Lac-Carré.
Since Louis-François Marcotte, speaker, is first and foremost passionate about projects, he agreed in spring 2015 to the proposal from Sportscene Group and became Vice-president – Restaurant Division for La Cage. Furthermore, he was a major actor regarding the shift taken by La Cage aux sports in order to become: La Cage – Brasserie sportive. Such project led him to become Vice-president – Branding and Innovation of LA CAGE, BRASSERIE SPORTIVE.
As the author of nine books, the father of two children and husband of actress/host Patricia Paquin, he knows he achieved his goals at all levels. Nonetheless, his greatest role is to bring together his loved ones that constitute the root of his success.

BETWEEN PASSION AND RIGOUR : Finding the right balance
- Duration: 60 minutes, adaptable adaptable to your needs and preferences
You’ve seen him on TV, you bought his books and magazines, and maybe you ate out at one of his restaurants… But these are not the subject matters of Louis-François Marcotte’s conference. Rather, he will tell you about his journey as an entrepreneur, who once studied in mechanical engineering, worked in a grocery store as a butcher clerk, and became one of the most prominent chefs and business leaders in the province of Quebec.
With a predisposition for pleasure and conviviality, Louis-François Marcotte will share his experience and journey, but he will mostly focus on his audience.
Behind such success and motivation lie universal values that resonate with a broad range of people. In his opinion, everything is cyclical, whether it is at work or in our personal lives. Such cycles have constantly paved the way to the man, father, and businessman that he became.
Louis-François adapts his conference to every audience and addresses topics such as: buying locally and business crisis management. But the ultimate goal of the conference given by Louis-François Marcotte, speaker, focuses on the importance of finding the right balance in everything we do, which leads to two sub-themes: passion and rigour.
As a conclusion, he will talk about his main priority: his family… and will remind you that there is nothing more valuable and uplifting than prioritizing such part of your life.
