Marc-André Leclerc – Speaker, political analyst and consultant

Marc-André Leclerc, speaker, spent ten years on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. In that time, he held one of the most prestigious positions for a political staffer on the federal stage, Chief of Staff to the Leader of the Official Opposition.

Since leaving politics, Marc-André has been a consultant in government relations, in addition to appearing regularly on the television program La Joute on LCN and on Qub Radio as well as having a column in Le Journal de Montréal and Le Journal de Québec.

Before entering politics, Marc-André was a six-time participant in the Traversée internationale du lac Saint-Jean, a 32-kilometer competition between Péribonka and his hometown of Roberval.

Marc-André is a graduate of Laval University and father of two daughters.

Marc-André Leclerc’s biography :

Marc-André Leclerc is a native of Roberval in the Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec. He has represented Canada in twenty open-water swimming marathons around the world while participating in the FINA circuit. Between 2002 and 2007, he was a six-time participant in the legendary Traversée internationale du lac Saint-Jean, a 32-kilometer swimming race.

Marc-André is a public affairs and strategic communications expert. He has over ten years’ experience at the national level in communications, media relations, issues management, stakeholder relations and parliamentary affairs.

After his studies at Université Laval, Marc-André worked on Parliament Hill for almost a decade. Most recently, he served as Chief of Staff in the Office of the Leader of the Official Opposition. Previously, he held positions as director of communications, political advisor and political organizer.

Marc-André was an integral part of three national campaigns at the federal level in 2011, 2015 and 2019. He was recognized by the Hill Times as one of the 99 most powerful and influential people to watch in federal politics in 2019.

Since September 2020, Marc-André has been a regular contributor on the show La Joute on LCN. He is also a columnist for the Journal de Montréal, the Journal de Québec and Qub Radio.
