Bob Hartley is energy and authenticity incarnate. As a coach in the National Hockey League, in 2001, he led the Colorado Avalanche to the ultimate prize, the prestigious Stanley Cup. From 2003 to 2007, he also guided the fortunes of the Atlanta Thrashers, the Calgary Flames from 2012 to 2016 and became head coach of the Latvian National Team from 2016-2018. Since the fall of 2018, he has been head coach of the Omsk Avanguard in the KHL, which he led to the league championship final. Benoit started swimming at the age of 8 and over the past 2 decades has become one of Canada’s most decorated Paralympic athletes with 20 medals in 5 Paralympic Games. A member of the Canadian National Team from 1998 to 2018, he won over 32 medals in six World Championships, setting over 60 world records in his category. His leadership has led to two Heads of Delegation for the Canadian Paralympic Teams. A proud ambassador of the Jumpstart Foundation and Right to Play, he holds a degree in communications and an MBA. A member of the Order of Canada and a Chevalier de l’Ordre national du Québec, he helps the next generation, inspires young people to reach beyond their own boundaries and motivates people to achieve their dreams. He does this by passing on his passion for life.
