Since his teenage years, as a hockey goaltender and tennis player, Jean-Michel Pelletier has asked himself countless questions about the mental aspect of athletic performance.
Why did some coaches make him feel more energized and motivated… while others made him feel incompetent?
How could a single mistake early in the game affect his confidence for the rest of the match… and even beyond?
Why did his level of play significantly improve when his twin brother was on his team?
Did he have some responsibility in these reactions and their impact on his performance?
If so, how could he improve?
To answer all these questions, he decided to focus his doctoral thesis on research into sports motivation.
He delved into the literature and the most effective scientific interventions to optimize motivation and mental performance in athletes.
He then pursued his career as a psychologist by dedicating himself to these fascinating aspects that influence the performance of athletes, coaches, entrepreneurs, and artists, with whom he developed a play-based approach.
Sports psychology can help all athletes reignite their mental strength.
It is the key to freeing the mind, heart, and body, opening the door to higher levels of motivation and performance—and solving the puzzle of the brain.
