Meet the team behind Formax

Marilyn Bourgeois, Director of Business Development and Marketing at Formax, takes advantage of our 30th anniversary to introduce the team behind Formax.

After 30 years in the business and with nearly 40k subscribers to our newsletter and a new visual identitywe thought it might be appropriate to explain exactly what services we offer today and what we can do to help you!

Our service offer

Simply put, our role is to help you find the speakerstrainers or hosts perfect for your event.

Setting the scene: you tell us about your next event and what you need, say, in this case, for a speaker. After an analysis of your needs and tastes, we make suitable suggestions and once the right speaker has been selected with your team, our job is to coordinate the mandate between you and our speaker.

Our job, as far as our speakers is concerned, is to act as an advisor to support them in the development of their conferences and training courses, as a disseminator to make their conferences and training courses known to you, the organisers, but also as a coordinator since we take care of coordinating all the details with you and providing them with all the information they need to prepare for your event.

In all, Formax is currently made up of almost 45 speakers, trainers and hostsprofessionals in whom we have full confidence.

Our team

The thing that probably sets us apart the most is that we are a family business, founded by Guy Bourgeois and Myriam Lapointe in 1992.

From 1992 to 2011, Formax represented a single speaker and trainer, Guy, while Myriam took care of the administrative side. Having spent her youth and teenage years accompanying her father to all kinds of conferences and training courses, it was only natural for Marilyn to accept Myriam and Guy’s invitation to join them in developing the team of speakers and trainers you know today.

Like any event company, our team is constantly evolving.

Currently, our permanent team consists of 3 other wonderful women who work alongside Marilyn in finance and development and marketing.

Among them, her sister, Ariane, joined our team last year, much to Marilyn’s delight, as she can now realise her ideas of marketing greatness for which she lacked time before her arrival.

And then there’s Guy, our Chairman, who is still speaker and a full-time trainer and more-than-full-time creative thinker.

Our strengths

We’re often told that we’re quick on our feet and we really care about that, even when a pandemic challenges us to plan everything with only one or two months’ notice.

We also know our field better than anyone, because we were born into it. Because Guy is still very active as a speaker and trainer, because we don’t sell any ready-made conferences or training courses, and because we take the time to talk to each and every one of you, we understand your challenges and your reality very well.

Our greatest strength is undoubtedly our adaptability! Although we only present 2 or 3 conference or training titles and descriptions on our speakers’ pages, the reality is that no two presentations are ever the same. Since you always talk to your speaker or trainer before the event to customize their content, in reality, just about anything is possible!

In the last 2 years, you have proven to us that you are creative and we are always ready to take up the challenge, virtual or face-to-face, because that too is part of our new reality.

On that note, our entire team is looking forward to meeting you, in turn! Who knows, maybe on the occasion of our next Showcase of speakers?
