Julie Marcoux has been a journalist for 25 years. Initially at Radio-Canada, she is now the anchor at TVA. Present at major news events, Julie has had an unconventional life journey. From a childhood filled with hardships living with her mother, she moved to live with her father at the age of 11. Amidst a recession and financial struggles, she learned early on how to build her independence and discovered mountain biking. It was a true revelation that allowed her to meet her best friends and, more importantly, build her self-confidence by becoming the junior Canadian champion and senior Quebec champion.
Committed to several social causes, Julie Marcoux is involved in the Grand Défi Pierre Lavoie, the ACEQ (Cancer Association of Eastern Quebec), as well as the Maison Au Diapason, a palliative care facility in Bromont.
After several unsuccessful attempts, she became a mother at 41 to a boy who is now 6 years old. Both in her personal and professional life, Julie has often had to face headwinds, an unlikely path for a determined and authentic woman.
