Health stories that make you feel good

Sometimes it’s the most mundane stories that can make us feel good and reward us for our efforts to lose weight and improve our health. Over the past 10 years, my wife and I have experienced and felt these kinds of small pleasures on several occasions, and it’s good to look back on them occasionally. Perhaps they will do you good too:

  • In the past, every time I went into a shop to buy an outfit, I would see the salesperson “scan” my figure and automatically direct me to the heavyweight clothing. I have fond memories of the first time a salesperson looked at my new figure and said, “Are you a size 40 jacket?” Yahoo! What an inner pleasure.
  • Or the time on an Air Canada Jazz flight when a belt extension left by the passenger in front of me was lying on the seat. When I handed the belt extension to the flight attendant, she said, “You don’t need that! Not any more, ma’am,” I replied inwardly.
  • As well as the time my partner and I, on a trip, witnessed a really fat couple having to give up snorkelling because the flotation jackets were not big enough. Ours fit us just fine!
  • Or the time when, on a tressasse in Montreal, the shoddy pvc chair in a crowded restaurant collapsed under the weight of a fat lady. Everyone laughed (and so did we), but I remembered the time it had happened to me before. Poor lady! But it won’t happen to me again.

No matter how many pounds/kilos you lose, I guarantee you’ll experience these situations and have a lot of fun remembering them.

*Note that my complexion in the photos was only dependent on the change of season, I could have had it photoshopped, but hey, I’m pale in winter and tanned in summer, what do you expect!
