About David Côté

Regarded as a tireless creative and a champion of positive disruption, David Côté is one of the most prominent figures in purpose-driven entrepreneurship in Quebec.

With no formal degree but a clear vision and contagious energy, he has co-founded several impactful ventures that have reshaped industries: Rise Kombucha, Crudessence and LOOP Mission.

Author of seven books on raw food, fermentation and food self-sufficiency — including three bestsellers translated into five languages — David is passionate about sharing knowledge. He shares his journey with disarming authenticity, blending unlikely anecdotes, humour and candid reflections on the state of the world. Since 2022, he has been a Dragon on Dans l’œil du Dragon on ICI Radio-Canada, where he continues to challenge traditional business models in an effort to build a more circular, more human and, above all, more inspiring world.

LOOP Mission

LOOP Mission is a circular economy company that comes to the rescue of the food industry’s unwanted products by upcycling food that has been set aside for aesthetic reasons or because of shelf-life concerns. In addition to cold-pressed juices made from perfectly imperfect fruits and vegetables, LOOP Mission produces beer made from day-old bakery bread, gin made from repurposed potato trimmings, soaps made from used cooking oil from a restaurant chain, and fermented sodas that give a second life to by-products from the essential oils industry.

Since the company was founded in 2016, it has saved more than 8,035 tonnes of food from waste, prevented the emission of 6,411 tonnes of greenhouse gases and helped save more than 482 million litres of water.
