Let the difference shine (a youth conference)

Using her characters from the Petits Géants* collection, Renee Wilkin encourages children to celebrate their uniqueness. Whether it's exploring body diversity with Marion's round belly , or deconstructing gender stereotypes with Nestor and his gang, this workshop-lecture inspires children to let their differences shine. The importance of taking an interest in different cultures, of being respectful of others and of oneself is also at the heart of these enriching exchanges. The conference will be adapted to suit the age of the participants and the theme(s) chosen.

Renee Wilkin biography:

After completing her training at Collège Lionel-Groulx in professional music and song techniques, Renee Wilkin, speaker, has performed in a variety of shows and events, both as a soloist and as a member of the Jazz Chic Avenue quartet.

It was thanks to the show La voix II (2014) that she became known to the general public and was crowned a finalist on Marc Dupré's team.

In September 2015, she released her debut album "L'amour, La guerre", produced by Gautier Marinof and Marc Dupré, featuring the radio hits L'amour, la guerre, Nos derniers pas and Comment je te dirais, among others. This album, with its pop, soul and R&B sounds, is brimming with genuine emotion and obvious passion, just like the singer-songwriter, and will see her nominated at the Adisq gala. In early 2016, Renee embarked on her first solo tour in support of her debut album.

Renee released the Soul67 album of covers produced by Erik West-Millette in May 2017. Currently on tour with this show, it will have been a success among others at the Montreal Jazz Festival in front of a crowd of over 30,000 festival-goers.

Since July 2017, the singer has also been part of the musical revue Britishow. The only female performer, she has been paying tribute to the greatest British hits for over sixty performances and many more to come, alongside Yvan Pedneault, Jérôme Couture and Pascal Dufour.

In October 2019, Renee Wilkin opens up to her public by tackling personal and sensitive subjects, and launches a message of strength, hope and confidence with a brand new album. Under the artistic direction of Corneille, she offers "Briser la chaîne", featuring songs with a pop and R&B sound. It is with great excitement that the artist crosses the ocean to Europe in December 2019, opening for Corneille at Le Trianon in Paris.

In 2020, Renee breaks taboos by unveiling an image-rich clip on body diversity. With the idea of reappropriating history, the clip proposes a variety of body sizes, with humor and repartee, to rectify beauty standards.
