Rose-Marie Charest is a psychologist, speaker, columnist, and author. She served as the president of the Ordre des psychologues du Québec from 1998 to 2015 and has since dedicated herself to her career as a communicator. Through her conferences, as well as on radio and television, her goal is to reach people and share the insights gained from her studies and practice in psychology, as well as her experience in management.

When the University of Montreal awarded her a prize for her professional impact, the article referred to her as “The psychologist who speaks to the people.” She says this is the title she prefers.

  • Conferences Tailored to Your Audience! Rose-Marie Charest’s extensive experience gives her the ability to develop a conference specifically suited to your organization’s needs and, if applicable, its challenges.

The search for meaning is universal. Everyone wants to understand what is happening in their life, social environment, or professional setting. A conference is a moment of pause where I aim to help participants put words to a reality, spark reflection, and provide them with ideas for understanding and action. I address a group as if it were one person, respecting its identity and the issues it currently faces. As a speaker, my conferences are a way to use my knowledge and experience to serve the unique realities of the people gathered.

Self-compassion: The starting point for individual and collective well-being

Self-compassion is an attitude that allows us to live better with ourselves and with others. Why? How can we take care of ourselves? In this conference, Rose-Marie will attempt to answer these questions by addressing each component of our well-being, including the physical, behavioral, cognitive, emotional, and relational aspects. You will see how self-compassion contributes to the quality of our interpersonal relationships, both at work and beyond.

The work environment: A shared responsibility

The real prevention of psychosocial risks (PSR) relies on maintaining a positive work environment. However, no one can achieve this alone. It is a shared responsibility between management, supervisors, colleagues, and the individual themselves. What is the role of each party? What is the connection between individual and collective well-being? How can we take care of ourselves both in our professional and personal lives?

In this conference, Rose-Marie will address these themes in a way that is concrete enough for everyone to find valuable insights and actionable steps.

Commitment: A source of happiness at work and in life

Psychology teaches us that people with projects are happier. This is especially true when it comes to shared projects. Work provides numerous opportunities to engage in collective projects. While psychological health is necessary for success, it is also a crucial factor for well-being. It is important to find meaning in one’s work. This involves integrating the goals being pursued and the quality of the work environment, which is a shared responsibility among management, colleagues, and the individual.

In this conference, Rose-Marie will explore the connection between engagement and psychological well-being by addressing the cognitive, motivational, relational, and organizational dimensions of commitment.

Taking care of yourself to better take care of others

Taking care of yourself is not selfishness. To take care of others, generosity alone is not enough. It requires physical energy, but also the psychological ability to cope with emotions—both your own and those of others—to maintain a harmonious helping relationship despite its complexities, and to stay present for others without losing sight of yourself. Whether you are a professional or a caregiver, we are our primary tool for work, and we know that compassion fatigue can creep in subtly. During this conference, Rose-Marie will address the physical, cognitive, emotional, affective, and relational dimensions to be considered.

Taking care of yourself to manage better

Psychological health is the result of the interaction between a person and their environment. Managers are used to taking care of their environment, but what about taking care of themselves as individuals? It is essential to focus on this if we want to be equipped to cope with various stresses, maintain a good level of energy throughout the year, effectively work with team members, and most importantly, set a positive example. In this conference, Rose-Marie will address the different components of well-being that deserve our attention, including the physical, behavioral, cognitive, emotional, and relational aspects. The conference will be followed by a period of discussion.

What our customers say:

Ça a passé trop vite.
