The success curve

speakersQuebec, Training, Motivation and Team Building - Formax - The success curve

I don't know where you are in your quest for success, but if you think you're at the bottom of the ladder, here's something to give you hope.

Beaucoup croient à tort que le succès est le résultat d’une longue et lente ascension de réalisations qui, avec le temps, aboutissent à ce qu’on appelle « le succès ».

In reality, this is not how it happens.

Success, in general, is achieved more as follows:

1- A start that is often encouraging and promising.

Think of someone who starts his own company. No matter what the field, his first clients are often his relatives and/or those in his region, which gives him a quick but limited success. Think also of the young singer who makes a few regional appearances, appears on local TV, in the local newspaper, etc. She is talked about here and there, and is not always the most popular. There is talk of her here and there, but it's far from a meteoric rise. There is talk of an encouraging and promising start, but we are far from the major leagues.

2- The straight and narrow path.

This is the period, more or less long, when we try to stand out in our region and be noticed by the big boys. Whether it's the local product, the young hockey player or the up-and-coming comedian, they all go through this period when it seems like nothing is happening. This period is often accompanied by a lot of discouragement and questioning. Recently, I heard an interview with comedian P-A Méthot. Eighteen years of working and hoping to stand out and become a comedian who attracts crowds and fills large halls. Eighteen years! That's quite a long time, thank you.

3- The explosion!

Finally, one day the explosion comes. Some people don't surrender and give up beforehand, but for others it's euphoria. It often happens all of a sudden. You don't always know why, but suddenly the momentum is there and you finally make it to the big leagues. Our product ends up on department stores' shelves or is in demand in other countries. Or the singer gets seen on YouTube and oops, the media discovers her, and all of a sudden her status changes overnight. In the case of P-A Méthot, it was the Lac Mégantic disaster that opened the doors of the Bell Centre for a benefit show and propelled her to the top.

No matter where you are right now, you will have to go through these three essential steps.

Oops, I didn't tell you about the 4th step to success!

4- The tray.

After a great success there is inevitably a kind of plateau. It is a period of questioning, repositioning and intense work to ensure that the magic of momentum is repeated.

Things to remember

Whatever stage you are in, it is only temporary.

Good success!
